TotalView 8.7

The most important additional new capability in TotalView 8.7 is support for heterogeneous debugging. With TotalView 8.7 you can debug heterogeneous combinations that include the Cell processor.

The following specific heterogenous combinations are now supported.

1. Linux Cell systems can be debugged from host Linux systems running Power 64, x86 and x86-64
2. Linux PowerPC32 systems can be debugged from host Linux systems running Linux x86, x86-64, Power (64 bit) and Cell
3. Linux PowerPC64 systems can be debugged from host Linux systems running Linux x86, x86-64, and Cell
4. A 32-bit linux system can be debugged from a linux x86-64 host system
5. A job with a mixture of Linux Cell, Linux x86-64, and Linux PowerPC64 targets can all be debugged from a Linux x86-64 host.

Some of these combinations require a TotalView TeamPlus license, others can be supported with one or more pools of TotalView Team licenses. Contact info@totalviewtech.com for more information.
