Launching totalview through poe on AIX

[size 2]I'm trying to use Totalview with poe on AIX, the problem is that when I submit a batch job
and try to start Totalview on the processing node, the processing node is not allowed to start the Totalview
server. Does anybody have a way around this?

Re: [lcrl] Launching totalview through poe on AIX

This depends a lot on how your cluster is configured. In most cases TotalView will try to start up a debug server (tvdsvr) using rsh. I've found that if you do not have the node that TotalView is trying to rsh to in your .rhosts file, then this connection will fail. Sometimes rsh is not allowed for security reasons and ssh is the only way to communicate between the nodes. In this case, the environment variable, TVDSVRLAUNCHCMD should be set to ssh

    setenv TVDSVRLAUNCHCMD ssh

should work (or the bash equivalent).

    Hope that helps
