Preferences Dialog: inexplicable "empty array" error message

I'm facing some problems trying to debug a c++ program with several dynamically linked libraries. I want to use the "Dynamic Libraries" dialog to stop the execution once one specific .so-lib is loaded. but every time I open the "File" > "Preferences" - dialog, and click OK (even without making changes to the settings or clicking "Default") I get an error message saying: "Invalid empty array bounds doesn't start with [ or (". I have no idea what this is supposed to mean in this context. Can anybody tell me how to solve the problem?
    Thanks in advance
    regards
