    VIEWS / DBLINK - License registering

    Hi,

    Our current version of tools is Views 5 and Dblink 5.1.
    We are using the following function for registering license :
    ilvregisterlicense() and ildregisterlicense().

    1/ Please let me know whether these methods are still in use with Views 5.7 and Dblink 5.7.
    2/ is there any modification / change that we should be aware for licensing in version 5.7 ? Is there some changes comparing with version 5.0 and 5.1 ?

    Best regards

    Hello Jean Paul,
    Yes, both functions are still present in newer releases but only for compatibility. Yet, as the libraries are not key locked anymore since release 5.3, they are not active. This means you do not need to modify your code, simply these functions do nothing.

    In terms of licensing, there is a noticeable change since 5.0 (or 5.1 for that matter): Views Controls and Views 2D Graphics or 2D Graphics Professional are now grouped into Views (was Suite formerly). If you have licenses for these you can either keep the maintenance for them or, preferably, opt for Views (Suite). This is a point you should discuss with your Sales Rep.

    Hi Claude,

    Thank you very much for your quick answer.

    However, I am not sure I understand your last paragraph.
    What is the issue when we move from 5.0/5.1 to 5.7 ?
    is it just a commercial matter ?

    Best regards
