    using ilvbuttons to navigate ilvstringlist

    hello i am facing an issue, i am trying to use two buttons to navigate up and down the stringlist. from my understanding the selection of the item on the stringlist works only on mouse click. is it possible to use buttons to navigate instead?

    please advice thank you

    Hello,
    Yes, selection can be handled using the documented API.

    Based on the assumption that a single item is selected at any moment you can use the following sequence:
    - find out the selected, if any, item: getSelectionIndices. If none is selected the count argument should return 0.
    - set the new selection: setSelected

    Note that setSelected can be used both for selecting and deselecting depending on the value of the second argument.

    HTH,
    Claude

    Thank you for your reply. I am new in using the roguewave api. If you don't mind, is it alright to provide me with an example?

    I have got a method to get the string list object, how do i go about in using the getselectionindices?

    I must include the itemgdt.h file right?

    Please advice. Thank you
