    automatic function-call at breakpoint

    Hallo,
I am using a C++ program which controls an ATE equipment. Such a test-system (ATE) contains many measure-units, digital resources, analog arbitrary waveform generaters etc.
One purpose of testprogram debugging is the verification, that all these resources are set in correct state.

Therefore, I would like to execute a predefined function, which is always executed whenever the program arrives at a breakpoint (e.g. readout of hardware-status of ATE and display it somehow).

my question: Is there a possibility, that totalview does call one of my C++ function whenever the program stops while debugging? (e.g. at each stop while stepping over lines with debugger)?

    Hello GuidoP,

Calling a function from within a breakpoint is supported with TotalView.

Have a look at "Evaluation Points" in the TotalView 8.14.1 User Guide on page 39 for further details http://docs.roguewave.com/totalview/...User_Guide.pdf

If you require an evaluation of TotalView you can request this from the website www.roguewave.com by following the Download Evaluation link.

    Regards

    Dean

    Hallo Dean,
    Thanks a lot.
Yes, maybe that this can help me. I will check the manual on this topic.
