Many posts in this forum especially contain code fragments or programs. When the post is converted to HTML, any spacing within the pasted code is lost and the end result is sometimes very difficult to read.

To help with this, the forums software contains the "CODE" BB tag (more info on tags). To use it, simply put the word 'code' inside square brackets [] to flag the start of a block of text that should be formatted as code. Then use '/code' inside brackets again at the end of the block. The main advantage is that leading spaces will be preserved making your code much easier to understand, with the added advantage of ignoring other tags since an 'i' inside [] turns text into italics, when you really want to subscript an array.

Should you need to use equations, you can also use a "TEX" tag. This isn't part of the standard software, but we do have an implementation working here. Simply use standard LaTeX code inside 'tex' tags to add an equation to your post.

Example without using CODE tags:
public static void main(String argv[]) {
new MyJFrameChart().show();
}

The exact same text pasted inside CODE tags:
Code:
    public static void main(String argv[]) {
        new MyJFrameChart().show();
    }
And the latex equation "a_i = x^3" inside TEX tags looks like
